iPhone Love

With the new Google based Nexus One coming out soon, I thought I'd give a shout out to my dearly beloved Apple iPhone. I have had my iPhone for 2 years now. And I have realized that there are many things I would give up before I gave up my iPhone and its internet access.

With nearly 115,ooo applications (familiarly called "apps") available for download, there are tons of uses for your iPhone beyond it's simple functionality of a phone. I personally use my phone for my calendar, my address book, email on the go (all three of those are standard apps on the iPhone), checking sports scores (Sportacular), checking the weather (The Weather Channel), making lists (Evernote), following RSS feeds(DaisyFeed), following tweets Tweetie 2), updating Facebook (Facebook), listening to music, a calculator (the last 2 are also standard iPhone apps), keeping track of my gas mileage efficiency (Gas Cubby), looking at Bible passages (Logos), checking on my fantasy football team (Yahoo Fantasy 09), checking Craigslist (Craigsphone), looking up phone numbers (YPmobe), recording voice memos (standard iPhone app), reading the news (Dallas News, USA Today), looking for jobs (iJobs and Career Builder), taking pictures (proCamera), and playing the occassional (OK. Fine. The frequent...) game (Bejeweled 2).

And there are so many other uses out there that I haven't downloaded. Yet.

And besides. You've gotta admit. Apple makes the coolest products. And they have the best support. In general, I'm not rich enough or cool enough to own most Apple products. Fortunately, I do own the iPhone.
