Birthday Mania

We have a clumping problem in our household. No, I'm not talking about rice. I'm talking about birthdays. Within the span of two weeks in March/April, we have an anniversary, Scott's birthday, my birthday, and Cade's birthday. And then here at the end of June, we have Jack's birthday followed the next day by Claire's birthday.

We celebrated Jack's 5th birthday yesterday (can't believe he's 5!!) and are celebrating Claire Bear's 3rd birthday today (can't believe our baby is 3!). The juxtaposition of the birthdays makes for a procrastinator's nightmare. I still have yet to buy either of them their birthday presents. And since I scheduled their birthday parties but forgot to actually tell the invitees about the parties, the soirees are rescheduled for next weekend. *sigh* I really need to get my junk together.

The summer is going fairly well. Especially compared to my freakish nightmares of how I thought things would go. And here we are already at the end of June. Praise God! I think we might just make it this time!

Is Summer Over Yet?

We're about to finish the first week of summer vacation. Is summer over yet?

The kids have already watched the amount of TV I had allotted for the entire summer. Just in the last 4 days. Oh boy. This is going to be a long summer. It's already getting so hot outside, that, short of wanting to have a heat stroke, we aren't too motivated to go play outside. And doing crafts with an almost 3 year old around is just asking for trouble. And a huge mess.

Currently, Cade is a sick blob on the couch. I'm betting on strep throat... but we shall see in the morning at Dr. Mathieu's office. Since he gets TV time, the other two are glue too. Oh well. At least it gives me some alone time to get some things done.
